The Saratoga Creek estuary lies along the coast of Rockport, Massachusetts on Cape Ann and is bounded by two barrier beaches, Cape Hedge Beach and Long Beach. This project is part of a larger effort by the Town of Rockport to improve the health of the Saratoga Creek estuary.

Eastern Point Wildlife Sanctuary Salt Marsh Restoration PDF Print E-mail

Owned and managed by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the Sanctuary provides critical habitat for many birds including warblers and shorebirds as well as a important migratory stopover point for monarch butterflies and is a locally popular wildlife viewing area.

Island Road Salt Marsh Restoration PDF Print E-mail

Island Road, located in Essex, Massachusetts, is a causeway dividing an area of high marsh between the mainland and an island. Unlike most areas where there is a unidirectional tidal flow, both sides of the causeway receive tidal waters though there is considerably greater flow from the Essex Riverside.
